Valentine’s Day: Decor – Quentin & Co

Valentine’s Day: Decor

I’ll be the first to admit it – holiday decor can go so wrong. On the flip side, when done right, subtle nods to the season make your space a more welcoming and enjoyable place to be. Whether you’re hosting a Valentine’s Day party, having an intimate dinner at home, or just looking to make your place feel a little lovelier for Valentine’s Day, these quick tips will help you create a look that’s simultaneously festive and grown up.

Florals

No surprise here! Flowers are always a must in my books, even more so for special occasions. And what says love better than flowers? Roses are classic and romantic, and tulips in various shades of pink are abundant this time of year.

Art

An easy and sophisticated way to bring a little love to your decor is through the art you display in your home; switch up your art prints for ones that echo the season in theme or colour. I took two pages from a Kate Spade coffee table book, New York: Things We Love and swapped them in place of my usual art prints.

Sweets

Possibly my favourite tip to follow! Purchase a few types of seasonal candy and display it all in glass apothecary jars, or get in touch with your local baker to order something sweet (the cupcakes pictured are courtesy of Shelby’s Sweet Shoppe in Windsor, Ontario). Pretty to look at it and perfect for a pick me up!

    1. Thanks! It’s definitely been put to good use 🙂 I love mixed metals and a minimal colour palette – sounds perfectly festive! Thanks for the tip!
