I like to think that one day I’ll have “completed” my wardrobe, having filled it with all of the essential pieces that I love wearing and rewearing – pieces that stand the test of time when it comes to quality and style. The issue with this of course, is resisting quick buys and instead researching which pieces truly fit my lifestyle and look. Easier said than done! I bought these Stuart Weitzman 5050s a few summers ago (waiting for them to go on sale at Nordstrom of course!) and I explained to my husband that they were “forever” boots. They fit like a dream, instantly elevate budget buys, and are by far my favourite purchase to date; so much better than running through three pairs of boots a season, struggling to find any that I actually love wearing. Today I’ve rounded up the 8 pairs of shoes that could easily carry my wardrobe and I through Fall and Winter. They include warm options like over the knee boots; one pair in leather for durability and this pair in suede to soften the thigh-high look. I can’t get enough of ever practical ankle booties, and these pairs done in polish patent leather, just-for-fun leopard, and studded boho chic are all perfect statement shoes to add to an otherwise pared down wardrobe. I’m loving lace up anything these days, and this feminine pair in blush suede would be perfect with jeans and a white cable knit at brunch. Of course, no shoe wardrobe is complete without a classic black pump (love this D’orsay style) or this sleek black sneaker that adds instant cool to running errands.
