Dining Room Reveal

Today I’m sharing the last of the photos from our home tour feature for Style Me Pretty Living. These photos are from our then dining room, which we’ve since converted to a main floor living room (our other living room is located downstairs) because we NEVER used it. I’m glad we have these pictures to remember it by, because it turned out so pretty! But, the reality was that with two babies under two, we’re not going to be throwing dinner parties on the regular.

The space was a combination of my favourite elements, mixing airy and feminine items like these Modani dining chairs and the hammered silver chandelier with rustic pieces like the dark wood dining table. The sideboard is actually a vintage dresser that my husband sanded down and had sprayed white; I loved all the extra storage it offered.. Above that is one of my favourite parts of the room, a piece of art my sister DIY’ed for me. I knew I wanted something large in scale, but I was working on a budget and couldn’t find anything that suited my minimal tastes. So I picked up a large blank canvas and some silver paint from Michael’s, and asked my sister to cover half of it in silver, leaving a jagged edge halfway up. It turned out perfect! Overall, it was such a beautiful room that I just couldn’t justify keeping around with two little babies who need to be watched while I’m in the adjacent kitchen area.

The space is much more functional now, and the plan is to share a full reveal once it’s finished. I’m still searching for a few pieces, mainly that perfect coffee table! In the meantime, here’s a look at the dining room that was, beautifully captured by Manifesto Photography. All sources and items are listed below too!

  1. Ah, what did you do with these chairs? I sadly just missed purchasing them before they discontinued them in January and haven’t been able to find a chair a like as much since. So my dining table has sat chair less for 6 months while my office chairs go from office to dinner table every night. 😂 I have looked everywhere and can’t find these same chairs anywhere anymore!

    1. Hi Lauryn!

SO sad that they discontinued them; they’re literally the perfect chair! I have mine in storage because I cannot bear to part with them. Fingers crossed you come across some.
