Bathroom Design: Part 2

Flooring: Lowe’s | Vanity: Ikea | Subway Tile: Home Depot | Remaining items sourced below

You may remember the initial bathroom plans I shared here prior to our renovation; while I LOVED that look, it actually isn’t the direction we’ve gone in. As anyone who has been through or witnessed a renovation knows, there are always hiccups along the way. To make a long story short, our hiccups meant I needed to choose a new vanity and alternate flooring. Luckily, what we ended up with is an even better match for our home! I paired slate flooring with white walls, glossy subway tile, and an ultra modern wall mounted vanity. To cozy things up and add texture, I purchased a white linen shower curtain, and I plan on layering a jute rug with sheepskin at the sink. My biggest challenge was making sure the contrast between our black floor and all the white in the room wasn’t too harsh. Incorporating a variety of fabrics, textures, and patterns helped soften things, as did choosing a mirror with beveled edges.

Since the majority of these pieces I’ve had to order online (totally odd how impossible it is to find a simple white shower curtain!) I’m still waiting to put the pieces together, but I can’t wait to share the final product. Stay tuned!
